Welcome

This Support Group was established by Parents/Carers who wanted their Child/Young Person with Type 1 Diabetes to have the opportunity to meet and to take part in fun activities with people in the same situation.

It also provides a forum for Parents/Carers to discuss the day-to-day issues of looking after a person with Type 1 Diabetes.

You do not need to be a member of Diabetes UK to get involved. New members are joining our Group regularly and the children are making lots of new friends. 

The diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes can be, at the very least shocking, but more likely devastating, not only for the child with diabetes but for the whole family. This is a natural reaction and with support from the Health Team, family/friends and, if you wish the Group, life with Diabetes will get easier.

Our Group provides a friendly, constructive, safe and informative environment to meet and we provide fun and healthy activities to participate in.
